Pendant que les Hollandais étaient à Saumur, les autres étaient en Allemagne à Hagen où se confrontaient les futurs concurrents des prochaines Olympiades.

Bien que Carl Hester ait dû faire forfait (Uthopia ayant perdu un fer la semaine dernière), les anglais étaient très attendus avec Charlotte Dujardin et Laura Bechtolsheimer.

Mais c’était également la première sortie de Matthias-Alexander Rath et Totilas, attendus au tournant suite à leurs deux prestations de Vechta.

Bref, même si nous étions bien contents d’avoir les cavaliers néerlandais à Saumur, Hagen réunissait beaucoup de couples attendus.

Le petit tour du CDI 4*

Le Saint-Georges

C’est l’hymne allemand qui a retenti lors de cette épreuve remportée par Ingrid Klimke. En selle sur Dresden Man, un étalon qui terminait 6^ème du championnat du monde des 5 ans en 2009 et de celui des 6 ans en 2010, la cavalière allemande prend la tête de l’épreuve avec une moyenne de 73.684% grâce à une reprise sans faute majeure.

C’est une autre allemande qui montera sur la seconde marche du podium puisque Charlott-Maria Schürmann rate la victoire de seulement 7.5 points sur l’ensemble des trois juges. En selle sur Donna Jackson, elle prend la seconde place avec une moyenne de 73.026% malgré un juge qui aura vu une faute dans la ligne aux quatre temps là où les autres n’en ont pas vue.

L’inter I

Dans cette épreuve, le cavalier suédois Patrik Kittel prendra l’avantage sur les cavaliers allemands et remportera l’épreuve. Uno Donna Unique, cette fille de Don Schufro, réussi une belle performance et les juges mettent plusieurs 9 (trot allongé, pas allongé, allures, impulsion), amenant le couple à prendre la tête à l’unanimité des cinq juges avec une moyenne de 75.895%.

Le Grand Prix qualificatif pour le Grand Prix Spécial

Ils étaient 23 partants sur cette épreuve et non des moindres puisque Charlotte Dujardin et Laura Bechtolsheimer se confrontaient à Isabell Werth ou Anna Kasprzak.

C’est Charlotte Dujardin qui remporte l’épreuve avec Valegro, un KWPN de dix ans appartenant à Carl Hester. Elle prend la tête de l’épreuve avec une moyenne de 81.426%, devançant très largement Isabell Werth et Don Johnson, seconds. Les juges mettront 10 à l’allongement, au piaffer, à la ligne de changement de pied aux deux temps, au passage de la dernière ligne et à l’arrêt final. Seul le juge allemand en H n’ira pas au-delà des 80% restant timidement à 78.936%.

Le Grand Prix Spécial

Pendant que nous pouvions tranquillement observer Edward Gal à Saumur (et pour beaucoup se faire photographier avec lui !), d'autres vivaient un moment historique en Allemagne ou Charlotte Dujardin et Valegro, non content de remporter le Grand Prix Spécial haut la main, faisaient tomber du même coup le reccord du monde détenu par Edward Gal et Totilas sur cette épreuve. Avec une moyenne de 88.022%, ils font tomber le reccord détenu par Edward Gal avec un Grand Prix Spécial à 86.458% (Aix-la-Chapelle).
