Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein et Digby @Kit Houghton/FEIJuste derrière le concours de Hagen, se déroulait celui de Mannheim.

Si les têtes de liste étaient présentes sur le premier concours, le second n’était pas en reste de couples importants à suivre à quelques mois des Jeux Olympiques de Londres.

Outre les allemands, les spectateurs qui auront bravé les conditions météo ont pu admirer les couples danois et australiens.

Le Grand Prix

Dans cette première épreuve, et malgré une forte présence allemande, ce sont les danois qui montent sur podium. Pour son troisième concours avec Donnperignon, elle s’offre la victoire. Rappelons qu’elle a racheté ce cheval de 13 ans, fils de Donnehall à Christoph Koschel après les Championnats d’Europe, et qu’elle le sortait pour la première fois en International à Bremen au mois de février. Avec une reprise notée à 76% tout rond, elle s’offre la victoire de l’épreuve à l’unanimité des cinq juges.

Elle prend donc une large avance sur sa compatriote Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein qui était venue avec Digby. Avec et autre fils de Donnerhall, elle est seconde avec une reprise notée à 72.574% malgré une faute dans le second trot allongé.

Beata Stremler et Martini montent sur la petite marche du podium pour la Pologne mais partagent leur place avec l’allemande Isabell Werth. A 28 ans, cette jeune polonaise a déjà couru les Championnats d’Europe dont elle terminait 12ème de la Libre. Les deux cavalières terminent avec une moyenne de 71.128%.

Dans la suite du classement, on notera la 7ème place de l’australienne Lyndal Oatley, la femme de Patrik Kittel, et de Sandro Boy (69.723%) dont on vous montrait une photo d’appuyer il y a quelques jours sur Facebook.

Andreas Helgstrand sortait pour la seconde fois Laetare, un fils de Lord Loxley qui n’a que 8 ans. Dernier classé, il est 8ème à 69.362%.

Christoph Koschel, qui regrette peut-être d’avoir vendu Donnperignon, puisqu’il est 10ème (69.106%) avec Rostropowitsch NRW, un cheval de 10 qui faisait son troisième concours.

Le Japonais Hiroshi Hoketsu aura fait beaucoup de fautes dans cette reprise (trot allongé, les deux lignes de changement de pied) et il terminera 21ème avec une moyenne de 66.085%.

Enfin, l’Australien Brett Parbery fait une grosse contre-performance avec Lord of Loxley. Il termine 31ème, soit avant-dernier, avec une moyenne de 60.128% et trois juges sur les cinq en-dessous de 60%, essentiellement à cause d’une succession de fautes dans le travail au galop.
